Islay for Wild Photography Holidays
February 23rd, 2015. We’ve had the great pleasure of guiding and hosting a group of American friends for a photography tour of Islay, on behalf of Wild Photography Holidays.
Islay, the largest of the southern Hebrides, is an excellent location at this time of year because of the often dramatic light, the wildlife and the wild seas and we made the most of all opportunities, including some light painting after dark at the Carraig Fada lighthouse. Colin Roy of The Celtic House – a fabulous book, coffee and gift shop in the heart of Bowmore – traded coffee and cake for a new set of images of the store – a good option when the rain was hammering down. Charlotte fed everyone with her most imaginative menu to date and peat fires kept us warm in our lodge in the evenings. Lovely! We’re returning here in June and again next February.
