Forestry Commission assignment completed
September 28th, 2016. During the last two years, the large photography commissions from the FC have focused on the recreation offer of their forests in Scotland and have involved sourcing and photographing a relatively large number of “models”. Securing people willing to spend two or three hours in front of the camera and lights, and redoing the same scenario time and again, is always a source of anxiety for us. Nevertheless, FC staff in Aberdeenshire and Moray yet again drew successfully on networks of friends and colleagues to provide a wider range of users than ever, from horse riders and dog walkers to disabled users and runners. This, coupled with an Indian summer, and being lucky about where and when I shot, yielded an great crop of images for the Commission to use in its publications and website.
